Hugh Nigel Thomas Fairfax, a descendent of the Fairfax family for whom the town is named, will be visiting the small Marin community this week.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, Hugh Fairfax is not the Lord Fairfax. It is his brother, Nicholas John Albert, whois the 14th Baron Fairfax of Cameron, But Hugh Fairfax is is a direct descendant of Fairfax, Calif. founder Lord Charles Snowden Fairfax (great grand nephew). He is also a real fan of Fairfax and is actually a member of the Fairfax Historical Society. He will be visiting with wife, Vicky, and children Alexander, Laura and Marina. Let by the Fairfax Historical Society, the town is planning a major celebration on Saturday, Aug.<\/p>\n<p>17. In the moming the Fairfax family will be given a tour of Lord Fairfax\u2019s historic home, Bird&#8217;s, Nest- Glen, now the vacant Marin Town and Country Club. |: might not exactly be roy- From there a pro- cession _ will take the % family to a luncheon at St. Rita\u2019s Parish Hall, 2100 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., where the luncheon will be catered by Deer Park Villa.<\/p>\n<p>At the luncheon Hugh Fairfax will be presented with a proclamation, from, Marin County Supervisor Hal Brown, proclaim; ing Aug. 17, \u201cFairfax\u2019s Day in Fairfax.\u201d Fairfax Mayor Lew Tremaine will present the visi- tor with a proclamation from the town welcoming the Fairfax family: Tremaine will also present the honored guest with a Key-to-the City. | public. Fairfax hosts its history The Fairfax family visit was amanged by Fairfax historian Patricia Arrigoni, Arrigoni was studying in London in 1980 when Marin historian Louise Teather of Tiburon suggested she try to find the Fairfax fam- ily.<\/p>\n<p>Amrigoni\u2019s search led her to Hollyport, south of London.
