Gingerly, he sat in the wooden chair, and kept his hood down to hide his face.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Vivian is all right, right?\u201d Judith reiterated, finding her voice. \u201cWhat happened? Where is she?\u201d Judith eyed him with concern, before turning her attention back to Gerald. \u201cWhat did that fucker do to her?\u201d the sister growled. \u201cKara,\u201d Judith admonished. \u201cMom, we need answers. You and I both know Vivian didn\u2019t kill Steve, no matter how many times I may have suggested it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He instantly liked Vivian\u2019s sister. \u201cHush, Kara. Please tell us what you know,\u201d Judith implored. \u201cI\u2019m putting myself in a difficult position coming here. But as a father, I believe you should know.\u201d \u201cWe\u2019re not going to blab to any of Steve\u2019s cronies,\u201d Kara reassured Gerald. \u201cIt sounds like you\u2019re aware Vivian\u2019s husband was mistreating her?\u201d Gerald gripped Judith\u2019s hand, attempting to comfort the female. \u201cYes,\u201d Judith whispered, and he scented a spike in her sorrow. \u201cWe tried to get her to leave him. My roommate and I were even willing to hide her in the dorm with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut she feared Steve would come after us.\u201d Judith shook her head in dismay. \u201cThat asshole pulled a gun on my last boyfriend. The fucker even informed me that if I didn\u2019t mind my own business, I\u2019d never be able to drive without getting pulled over and searched.<\/p>\n

God only knows what else he would\u2019ve done. But you know what, I don\u2019t care. I would\u2019ve risked it,\u201d Kara snarled. Blaidd repressed a growl. He had done the world a favor, ridding it of Steve. \u201cThankfully, a Good Samaritan intervened,\u201d Gerald continued. \u201cSeeing what was going on, the man permanently stopped Steve. I don\u2019t usually condone violence, but I saw what was done to your daughter. Vivian had a broken arm, and other injuries. If it was my daughter, I would\u2019ve done the same.<\/p>\n

Pardon my language, but things quickly turned to shit. With Steve being an officer, and the cops in the neighborhood, Vivian was afraid. My wife\u2019s a doctor. She was able to treat some of Vivian\u2019s injuries, but she needed a hospital. Anyway, the Good Samaritan took Vivian to a hospital outside the city. They are lying low, waiting for things to calm down.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re sure she\u2019s okay?\u201d Judith asked, sorrow twisting her face. \u201cAs sure as I can be, since I haven\u2019t seen her since that night. But I have received word. That\u2019s how I found you,\u201d Gerald replied. \u201cThis is awful, but it\u2019s not the worst thing I imagined.<\/p>\n

The mage sighed as she was again reminded that although she saw a lot and could help guide people, she couldn\u2019t live their lives for them.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
