Taller plants like ficus work well to fill out those corners of the room that so frequently go unused. And if you\u2019re willing to take on a little more responsibility, orchids make a gorgeous accent to any tabletop\u2014if you\u2019re worried about your plant skills, choose one of the less fussy varieties, like phalenopsis (moth orchid). Whatever plant you choose to bring into your space, don\u2019t just leave it in that dented black plastic pot that it probably came in. You don\u2019t necessarily have to repot your plant\u2014that can be a hassle, and besides, you risk disturbing the roots.<\/p>\n

Just find a container that\u2019s slightly larger than your original, and you can slip the potted plant right in. If the decorative container is too high, spread some small rocks along the bottom to act as a little pedestal that\u2019ll raise the plant up. Basic red terra-cotta pots are lovely in and of themselves, of course, but you can also paint pots to match your decor. better your bedroom I don\u2019t care if you\u2019re in your office, in the library, at school, wherever.<\/p>\n
