We had the Word of God, a fresh and direct word from the Lord through Jim\u2019s dream, and multitudes of friends who were pray- ing with us. Nevertheless, the situation in the natural looked entirely hopeless. I was more desperate than I had ever been in my life. I cried out to God, \u201cLord, I really want to have children, and You know that I do.<\/p>\n

But if it\u2019s Your will for us not to have children, then I will surrender my will to You. I won\u2019t like it, but I will surren- der myself to Your will for my life.\u201d I felt almost as though He was waiting for me to say that, because He immediately responded, \u201cAnn, I appreciate your atti- tude, but I\u2019m not requiring that of you.<\/p>\n

You are going to have to fight for your children.\u201d We were in the middle of a spiritual war- fare encounter, but God\u2019s Word is an overcoming power! As soon as I heard the Lord say those words, I became filled with the revelation that He felt my pain, and that He longed for me to have children more than I did! He was pulling for me! I became aware that I had been blaming God for being childless, but the blame truly belonged on satan. So, I took a stand and made a proclamation that day.<\/p>\n

I said, \u201cFrom this day forward, I\u2019ll no longer blame God for my infertility. I take the blame off God my Father and put it squarely where it belongs\u2014on the devil!\u201d When I finished, it seemed as if an ax was laid to the root of a large tree, and that significant spiritual damage had been done! I was filled with new hope and a fighting spirit.<\/p>\n

Jim began to study the barren women of the Bible and dis- covered that every one who was miraculously healed gave birth either to a prophet or a deliverer of a nation! Hope sprang anew as we prepared to enter our seventh year of marriage. For us to conceive was medically impossible, but God heard our cries of desperation.<\/p>\n

Even in our barrenness, God was about to bring forth the impossible. We believed that we would parent history-making children. In the midst of our trial, Mahesh Chavda conducted a heal- ing service at the church we pastored in Warrensburg, Mis- souri. At one point, he issued a call for barren women to come forward.<\/p>\n

With the encouragement of friends, Jim and I eagerly jumped at the chance to receive prayer. When Mahesh placed his hands on us and prayed, God\u2019s healing grace flooded my body as the Spirit\u2019s presence overwhelmed us both. God per- formed a restorative miracle\u2014He created or recreated what had been inoperative before!<\/p>\n
