Later, after I\u2019d lit some scented candles, performed my ablutions and slipped into my silk pyjamas in preparation for bed, I went to lock the front door and saw that their door was still open.<\/p>\n

I stepped out, popped my head in and shouted \u2018hello\u2019 but received no reply. So, I did what any responsible neighbour would do and telephoned building management, who in turn called a non-emergency police line. Jordan: Oh, the drama! William: A little while later, two very young police constables arrived, a female and a male. The two of them dutifully headed into the neighbours\u2019 flat. About thirty seconds later I heard a loud bang. The next thing I knew, the female police officer was at my door, holding her head, which was covered in blood.<\/p>\n

I panicked, thinking my crazed neighbour had suddenly turned violent and was about to embark on a rampage, killing every innocent soul he saw. I was scared stiff, fearful that he might come at me wielding his intimidating weapon. However, as I guided the policewoman through to the safety of the bathroom, where I knew her dripping blood wouldn\u2019t permanently stain any of my furnishings, they explained that the neighbour wasn\u2019t responsible for the injury at all.<\/p>\n

Apparently, during their search, the male police officer had jumped out to scare her while she was looking under a kitchen unit, and as a result she\u2019d cut her head open.<\/p>\n
