dog\u2026 wanted to save you from that man, but she would have had to bite him. If she did that, the police would most likely come looking for a\u2026 wild dog\u2026 and she wouldn\u2019t be able to see you any more. She really loves being your friend.\u201d Suzy said, \u201cShe\u2019s not really a dog, is she?\u201d The woman looked at her and said, hesitantly, \u201cthen what is she?\u201d \u201cShe\u2019s a wolf.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman gave a big smile. \u201cYou\u2019re right. And you\u2019re very smart. But that will be our secret, right? There are lots of people in this world who want to kill all the wolves \u2014 so we can\u2019t let them know about her.\u201d \u201cOur secret,\u201d Suzy said. \u201cBut\u2026 how come you\u2019re naked?\u201d The woman stood up and laughed. \u201cI didn\u2019t have time to dress. The wolf said you were in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAren\u2019t you cold?\u201d The woman smiled. \u201cMy body temperature runs a little warmer than yours.\u201d She turned to go, but Suzy said, \u201cDo you live around here? Will I see you again?\u201d \u201cNo. And probably not. But you will see the wolf. She likes you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Suzy hung her head. \u201cIt\u2019s not safe to come here anymore, is it?\u201d The woman stopped and came back. \u201cNot until he\u2019s gone. He\u2019s a very bad man \u2014 I could smell what he wanted. But I\u2019m going to check on him and he won\u2019t be around long. He may be wanted by the cops. If so, I\u2019ll make sure they know about him.<\/p>\n

If he\u2019s not wanted, then I\u2019ll\u2026 well\u2026 I\u2019ll take care of him another way. You can come back here when you learn he\u2019s no longer at your RV park. Okay?\u201d Suzy nodded. That night mom left Suzy some craft supplies on the RV dinning table. There was red paper and white lace and glue and colored pencils. It was just like what they used to use when she, dad and mom would make each other valentines.<\/p>\n

Suzy worked hard to create the five prettiest valentines she\u2019d ever made. They were gorgeous! Later Suzy went on her computer and googled human and wolf temperatures. Google said humans average 98.6 and wolves average 104- 105. Before she fell asleep, she saw red lights through the blinds on her window. She raised them and saw three police cars surrounding an RV across the tiny lake from her. They were flashing their lights, but there weren\u2019t any sirens. Maybe they were taking the creepy guy away?<\/p>\n

She hoped so.<\/p>\n
