I don\u2019t know what I was expecting, but it made me excited\u2014really excited\u2014for the first time since we started this crazy ride.<\/p>\n<p>We tried to send Momma home early, but she wanted to stay. I think she was just trying to keep her mind occupied, so she could keep her nerves in check. We closed the shop at 3:00 on the dot and all went home to get ready for the big night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGLORY, WE HAVE A PROBLEM.\u201d Momma began talking as soon as I answered her call. \u201cI\u2019ve got a flat tire, so you\u2019re gonna have to come get me or I\u2019ll be late for the town meeting.\u201d \u201cOh, gosh! I\u2019m almost ready to walk out the door. I\u2019ll feed Izzy and be there in a few. We\u2019ll worry about the flat later. Jake or Hunt will take care of it.\u201d I hung up and ran to the bedroom to run a brush through my unmanageable hair.<\/p>\n<p>Now that it was getting longer, it was a lost cause. I pinned it back off my face, slapped on some lipstick and grabbed my purse. Izzy reminded me in no uncertain terms that it was supper time. \u201cOh, Izzy! I almost forgot you! I\u2019m sorry!\u201d I scooped her kibble into her bowl and gave her fresh water. \u201cWish your Nana luck! I\u2019ll see you later tonight!\u201d And out the door I ran.<\/p>\n<p>Momma was sitting on her front porch waiting for me when I pulled into the driveway. I immediately saw the flat tire. But it wasn\u2019t just a flat tire. \u201cMomma! That tire\u2019s been slashed!
