Grabbing my bag, I shoved my dead phone and charger into it, along with my books for class.<\/p>\n

I tossed my keys in, too, taking a last look around my chaotic bedroom before heading toward the door. \u201cTonight, I\u2019m getting my life together,\u201d I muttered to myself, locking the door behind me. \u25c6\u25c6\u25c6 Professor Reynolds\u2019 voice droned on from the front of the lecture hall, a steady rhythm that echoed around me as I sat at in the chair, propping my chin up on my hand. I knew I should\u2019ve been listening, but after the morning I\u2019d had, my brain was already miles away.<\/p>\n

All I\u2019d managed to jot down was \u201cdeviance in social behavior\u201d before my focus slipped. Instead, my thumb absently scrolled through my social media feed, searching for something\u2014anything\u2014to keep me entertained. Just then, the People You May Know section caught my eye. And there, right at the top of the suggestions, was Kassan. My heart gave an unexpected thump. For a moment, I just stared at his profile picture, like if I looked hard enough, I\u2019d see something I\u2019d missed before. He was standing by his front door, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth and there was this air of mischief in his eyes.<\/p>\n

Before I knew what I was doing, I tapped his profile, my curiosity getting the better of me. His feed was surprisingly sparse, just a few photos, but each one was enough to get my mind spiraling.
