Barbara Yelin IRMINA Afterword by Dr Alexander Korb Some years ago, | found a box of diaries and letters among my late grandmother’s things. That find was the inspiration behind this graphic novel. But what | really discovered in that box was a question – a disturbing question about how a woman could change so radically. Why did she turn into a person who did not ask questions, who looked the other way, one of the countless passive accomplices of her time?<\/p>\n

The historical background to this story has been carefully researched, and advice was provided by the historian Dr Alexander Korb. If you want to learn more about the historical context, | would highly encourage you to read his afterword at the end of this book. | have, however, used artistic licence for the plot: the people represented here, their biographical relations and many of the settings have been freely interpreted for dramatic purposes.<\/p>\n
