How will they preach unless they are sent?” (Rom. 10:14–15). While Romans 11:26 tells us the fact that all Israel will be saved, Romans 10:12–15 tells us the manner in which all Israel will be saved—by hearing the gospel message, believing unto repentance, and calling on the name of the Lord.

The words of Romans 11 are our comfort—all Israel will be saved. But the words of Romans 10 are our commission—we must tell the Jewish people about Jesus so they may hear, believe, call, and be saved. Though the commission may be hard to bear, Paul ends the passage with a wonderful promise for those who are willing to go. “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” (Rom. 10:15). But since all Israel will be saved anyway, can’t we bypass the Jews for now?

Won’t they call on Him when they look on Him? And won’t they look on Him when He returns? I know a lovely Jewish man named Aaron (not his real name). At the time of this writing, Aaron is in his nineties. He still has a clear mind. He still has a quick wit. And he still has a nonbelieving heart when it comes to Jesus. Whenever I ask him how he’s doing, he smiles and says, “Well, I’m old, but I’m alive, and that beats the alternative.”

Some Christians would actually disagree. Essentially, they’d argue that whether or not Aaron ever believes in the Lord or lives to see Jesus return, he has nothing to fear. “Either Aaron will come to faith after looking on Him when He returns, or he will be saved after death, even if he dies in unbelief.” But is that what Paul meant when he said, “All Israel will be saved”? And is that what the prophet Zechariah foretold when he declared, “they will look on Me whom they have pierced”?

What does Zechariah 12:10 actually say? I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son.

Jews Don’t Need Jesus … and Other Misconceptions If the gospel is not for the Jewish people, it’s not for anyone, and if Jesus is not the Messiah of Israel, then He’s not the Savior of the world. And if Jewish people (or any people) can be saved apart from knowing Jesus as Lord, then His death on the cross was in vain. Sadly, in an effort to repent of spiritual pride and to renounce “Christian” anti-Semitism, many churches today no longer share the gospel with Jewish people, believing that they have their own covenant with God.

This book, written by a seasoned Jewish missionary, dispels these misconceptions and calls on Christians everywhere to proclaim the good news about Jesus the Messiah, to the Jew first. MICHAEL L. BROWN Author, Answering Jewish Objections to Jesus That Jesus is the Savior of the world who is the Messiah and Son of God is a truth that cannot be rejected. Avi Snyder argues well that bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Jews as well as to the Gentiles is still of paramount importance.

The Bible teaches that God chose to work with Israel in the past, that a remnant is still being saved today, and that “all Israel” will be saved in the future. That salvation is found in no one other than in Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. MARK L. BAILEY President, Dallas Theological Seminary In our clouded, jumbled world, an increasing number of Christians are viewing Jewish evangelism with a skeptical eye.

The sad result is not surprising—fewer followers of Jesus are seeking to tell Jews about Him. Armed with forty years of experience and the mandate of Scripture, Avi Snyder confronts and dismantles each objection. This valuable book brings a needed focus back to the church: the gospel is first “to the Jews.” J.

PAUL NYQUIST President, Moody Bible Institute As the pastor of a Bible-believing church and a Jewish believer in Jesus myself, I wholeheartedly recommend this book! It effectively presents the case to Christians for including Jewish people in their evangelism efforts and can only enhance the local church’s missions mandate.

LON SOLOMON Senior Pastor, McLean Bible Church, McLean, VA If I found a treasure, hidden in a field, which would help to meet all of my deepest needs, would I keep it to myself? No way! I would want to share it with everyone, including those who first owned it, and everyone else.

That is the way it is with the good news of Jesus. I am a debtor with a debt to repay—to God for His great gift, to the people He first chose as His own, and to everyone everywhere who is seeking life in all its fullness.

This is a short excerpt from the opening of “” by Unknown, quoted for review and introduction purposes.
