\u201cBeing stuck in a hat without a wand definitely makes things tricky,\u2019 she said. \u201cBut I\u2019m sure we’ll think of something.\u201d The goblins were talking about Dewbelle. \u201cThe others said that it\u2019s haunted by the ghost of Spider Pickles,\u201d said the first goblin in a shaky voice. \u201cThey made that up,\u201d scoffed the second goblin. \u201cThey just want us to fail because they lost Jack Frost\u2019s magical skis.\u201d \u201cIT don\u2019t want to meet a g-g-ghost,\u201d said the third goblin. \u2014\u201cT\u2019ve got an idea,\u201d Kirsty said suddenly. She cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted as loud as she could, ee me 2+ Mountain Accident \u201cT am the Ghost of Knobbly Knee; set your little prisoners free!\u201d<\/p>\n

There was a loud squawk of fear, and then the hat went spinning through the air. They landed with a bump. \u201cOuch!\u201d cried Rachel. \u201cQuick, let\u2019s push our way out before the goblins pick us up again,\u201d said Kirsty. She held up the floppy material of the hat to let Rachel and Jayda crawl out.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u201c\u201cWhere are the goblins?\u201d asked Rachel, fluttering above the snow. Kirsty followed her out and gazed around. They were high in the mountains above Dewbelle, which was hidden by a misty cloud. She could see snow-tipped trees and distant mountain peaks. But there wasn\u2019t a goblin in sight. \u201cWhere did they go?\u201d asked Kirsty in amazement. Jayda flew up and glided in small circles. \u201cDown there!\u201d she exclaimed, pointing. \u201cThey’ve fallen into a ravine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chapter Four Hot-air Rescue The three goblins were trembling on a narrow, rocky ledge. The fairies zoomed down and fluttered in front of them. \u201cYou poor things,\u201d said Rachel. \u201cTry not to be scared,\u201d said Kirsty, smiling at them. \u201cWe\u2019re going to help you to get down.\u201d Rachel glanced up. The top of the ravine was several metres away. \u201cT\u2019m not good with climbing,\u2019 wailed the goblin on the left. \u201cT\u2019m not good with heights,\u2019 the one in the middle squawked.<\/p>\n

\u201cT want to go back to Goblin Grotto,\u201d whined the goblin on the right. \u2018Take it easy,\u201d said Jayda, perching on the ledge. \u201cI can get you out of here and send you straight home to Goblin Grotto. But \u2019’m going to need my wand…\u201d At once, the middle goblin held out her y Qe: Hot-air Rescue tiny wand in the palm of his shaking, bony hand.<\/p>\n
