Familiar spirits keep the same negative patterns and habits happening in our lives. When we don\u2019t passionately pursue our deliverance, we come into agreement with the spiritual attacks that happen against us. Even though we haven\u2019t consciously come into agreement, we have subconsciously come into agreement by doing nothing. In the demonic realm, this is called \u201ccreating a legal right.\u201d Passivity is accepting what happens to us without response or resistance.<\/p>\n

When the demonic realm comes to attack us, we can become passive over a period of time and even begin to feel defeated. We take on a victim mentality and lose the fight within us. We are to fight the good fight of faith and run the race of faith to win the prize. Paul wrote, Fight the good fight of faith.<\/p>\n

Lay hold on eternal life, to which you are called 1 Tim. 6:12. Do you not know that all those who run in a race run, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain it 1 Cor. 9:24. When we fall prey to the enemy, we come into agreement with demonic spirits attacking us. We need to issue a divine reversal in the spiritual realm of what we came into agreement with. We need to break agreement to reverse the effects in the spiritual realm and break the legal rights the enemy has established in our lives.<\/p>\n

We must rise up and take the authority that Jesus came to give us. His word says, Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you Luke 10:19. We have authority, but we have to take the authority Jesus gave us. The Scripture says we have power over the enemy, but when we don\u2019t take our authority, he has power over us.<\/p>\n

We must break that power. How do we come into demonic alignment? We receive spiritual attacks, and we don\u2019t defeat the enemy by the power of our words, the authority we have, or rising up and conquering our emotional ailments. We allow rejection, offense, anger, hurt and fear to take hold of us, instead of us taking hold of it. We allow piercing thoughts to plague our mind instead of taking every thought captive (2 Cor. 10:3-5) and dismissing it. We pursue things of the world, instead of being kingdom-minded.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to break agreement to reverse the effects in the spiritual realm and break the legal rights the enemy has established in our lives.\u201d Breaking agreement in the spiritual realm is powerful and gets results. It loosens the devil\u2019s foothold in our lives, takes authority over the spiritual realm, and releases deliverance in our lives. As we break agreement, legal rights that have once been established will now be severed.<\/p>\n
