The sooner we wrapped this up, the sooner I could go back to my apartment and figure out what to do about Danielle. Agent Carswell waited for me to still myself. I didn\u2019t need some wacko department full of shrinks to tell me where my head was at.<\/p>\n

I rarely received a good report on my evals, but for the most part, I was by the book. Well, up until certain events took place, but they weren\u2019t planned. They weren\u2019t even pre-planned. I didn\u2019t know Danielle was going to show up in my life and flip everything upside down. I could have grinned at the last thought but held it back.<\/p>\n

Agent Moody probably wasn\u2019t even dead. He was no doubt being removed from his dirty little apartment, at Motel Shitbox, and sent back to his cubicle in the so-called mental audit department, whatever that was. No wonder he was so annoying. \u201cLet\u2019s just get this done. You asked if I noticed anything weird about last night with Moody, and I mean, he\u2019s an odd one as it is, so he didn\u2019t do anything out of the ordinary; he is out of the ordinary.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s just my opinion, of course. Besides that, everything was routine. Give him kudos for me; I had no idea he was one of your guys. I can usually spot them. They\u2019re not too comfortable about having to take out a target.\u201d \u201cHe\u2019s not with our department; I\u2019m just required to include it in the assessment since it happened within the timeframe of the evaluation, and Agent Hall seems to be MIA.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hearing him say her name again felt like a punch to the gut. Why\u2019s he so concerned with Danielle? \u201cI\u2019m confused. You\u2019re just wondering how I\u2019d react to losing an agent because of the eval, but you\u2019re not being clear about Moody. He isn\u2019t dead, he\u2019s just one of yours, right?\u201d \u201cMa\u2019am, last night, Agent Moody apparently pointed his weapon at another agent named Falco.<\/p>\n
