I keep my tone neutral. \u201cAnybody else know who you are?\u201d \u201cLetitia does,\u201d she grumbles. \u201cBecause my father got me the job, which is why she hates me.\u201d It\u2019s all falling into place. Camouflaged from the broader human world despite sometimes being located in big cities, these havens are connected through a series of portals originating from a headquarters location called Hearth HQ.<\/p>\n

Each haven is run by a Keeper, something like a human mayor, who\u2019s both the Hearth HQ representative and the local authority in advocating for the haven\u2019s needs. The Keeper also works with the town herself, where every building is sentient and has\u2026opinions. Keepers can invite outside humans into the haven via a magical homing beacon object, which varies by location. Havens are protected from prying human eyes by magically spelled wards, and time passes more quickly inside monster havens than outside.<\/p>\n

Within this world, monsters live lives of peace and happiness, finding love, community, and family. It\u2019s not without challenges, though. Thralls\u2014monsters bewitched by those who don\u2019t believe in the sanctity of the haven system\u2014are attracted to haven magic and always looking for a way in.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
