Aren’t you ambitious? Uchenna giggles, her stomach doing multiple flips at a time. From Leo thought that had already been established\u2026 but we’ll go at your pace. No pressure. She is thinking of how to respond when she sees him typing again. From Leo Can I call you? Giggling to herself, she\u2019s halfway through typing \u201cyes\u201d when her screen lights up with a WhatsApp call from Hassana. Realising she hasn\u2019t checked the group chat since her initial message. She quickly types a reply to Leo.<\/p>\n

I’m sorry but now is not a good time. I have a call waiting. But if you are awake and I can’t sleep later, maybe then. Leo (Sad face) No worries, take care. As soon as she answers the call, the barrage begins immediately: questions, accusations, and playful jabs tumble out from Hassana, Somto, Kemi, and Mabel. \u201cGuys, calm down,\u201d Uchenna says, laughing as she heads to her kitchen to get a bottle of water. \u201cI know I should have said something. I just wanted to be sure of what this was.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat this was, abi?\u201d Kemi retorts with a scoff. \u201cI\u2019m sorry, now. I didn\u2019t mean to keep it from you,\u201d Uchenna says sheepishly. \u201cBut you did,\u201d Mabel fires back. \u201cWas it because we grilled you about him at Tade\u2019s rehearsal dinner? That was even months ago?\u201d Somto cuts in with outrage. \u201cThe bigger question is how long you\u2019ve been doing sneaky-sneaky with this man!\u201d<\/p>\n

Uchenna bursts out laughing. \u201cSneaky-sneaky? I take offence to that!\u201d \u201cOffence to which part?\u201d Hassana shoots back. \u201cImagine my shock when I opened the chat and saw all these messages.\u201d \u201cOya, sorry now,\u201d Uchenna concedes. \u201cI wasn\u2019t sneaking. We just met at the store when my phone broke, he texted last week, and we planned a date for tonight.\u201d \u201cSo, two weeks of keeping us in the dark. Wow,\u201d Kemi replies. \u201cDo you people want the gist or should I keep quiet?\u201d<\/p>\n

Uchenna teases, heading back to her bedroom with the bottle of water. \u201cDon\u2019t you dare threaten us with gist!\u201d Mabel warns. Somto and Kemi chorus, \u201cApologise first!\u201d \u201cShebi, I have apologised already?\u201d Uchenna protests as Lami joins the call. \u201cGood evening, everyone,\u201d Lami greets. \u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d \u201cAsk Uccy o!\u201d Kemi exclaims. \u201cCan you believe she went on a date tonight?\u201d Lami\u2019s brows shoot up. \u201cWhen?
