I inch closer to him, like a predator to prey, anger lit in my eyes. \u201cYou are a skeeving, conniving little\u2014” \u201cASSHOLE!\u201d Dionysus shouts from behind me, and I close my eyes for a moment, exhaling a steady breath. \u201cExcuse him, he gets a little passionate,” I tap a finger to my chin as if in thought.<\/p>\n

“But I do like that word.\u201d \u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d I stiffen when I hear Alora\u2019s voice, turning to see her concerned face as she stands in the archway. \u201cUh-oh.\u201d Dionysus mumbles out, taking a large swig of wine. \u201cAlora\u2014\u201d Peter starts, but I don’t let him finish. \u201cYou!” I point an angry finger at him. “Quiet! Your mouth will never speak her name again.\u201d \u201cAlora, my love, we\u2019re leaving.\u201d<\/p>\n

I walk over to her, extending my arm out, and a small sigh of relief escapes me when she grabs it without hesitation, and I lead us out. \u201cWait, what happened in there?\u201d She whirls around when she hears a shout to see Dionysus running wobbly down the steps with laughter, a very wet Peter standing in the doorway as dark purple liquid runs down his face, staining his perfectly white shirt. \u201cWhat is going on?\u201d She stares wide eyed at the chaotic scene.<\/p>\n
