I’ll send the coordinates to the shipping unit.” “Shipping unit?” Sal repeated, not sure what he meant. “For materials.” Posty said as though it was obvious. “We’re not savages, Salvatore. I hope you didn’t think I would be asking you to forage for building supplies? Paradox has standards, and I think you’re going to appreciate them.”<\/p>\n

As Posty led the way to their Outpost location, Sal looked overhead to see Edgar looping around in circles excitedly. “He’s just happy because he was praised.” Anna explained with a laugh as she followed after Posty. “Don’t encourage him too much, or he’ll get complacent.” Blathnaid looked up at the twirling bird and let out a groan of anguish. “I want one.” OceanofPDF.com Chapter 42 Navigating to the site that Edgar identified was taking close to a half hour, and while that delay felt like an eternity to Sal and Blathnaid, Posty seemed to be content with the pace.<\/p>\n

When Sal had suggested they try to get there faster, Posty had laughed it off. “One of the things you’ll need to become very familiar with in Guild Organisations, is the timing.” He chuckled like it was a universally accepted truth. “Testing students like this is akin to a holiday for our members, and they’re absolutely going to be taking their time to get the most out of it.<\/p>\n

We’ll have roughly six hours to ourselves with the materials, which is more than enough time to get a solid structure in place.” Anna’s face went white at those words. “A structure for how many people?” She looked at Sal and Blathnaid, as though looking for confirmation that her suspicions weren’t crazy. “Six hours is nowhere near enough!” Posty shook his head.<\/p>\n

“If I was by myself, six hours is more than enough. Having three competent students like yourselves will allow us to finish in no time.” He turned to look at them with a reassuring smile. “And I won’t be a cruel taskmaster in getting us to the finishing line. There’s an art to this sort of thing, and we’ll be taking it in phases.”<\/p>\n

Anna looked nowhere near convinced, and Posty seemed to recognise it. With a thoughtful look, he paused his stride and gave her a better explanation. “You’re probably imagining us making a barricade, aren’t you?”<\/p>\n

Leaning back in his chair, Jez held the mission report up to the light so he could read it better. It managed to obscure Sal’s view of his face, and that honestly might have been for the best. The grunts of dissatisfaction indicated that Sal wasn’t going to be having the most pleasant of conversations with the Guild Mastery Lecturer. It went on like that for another few minutes, and Sal found himself counting down the time until his next class.<\/p>\n

There was a lot of catching up to do, and while Quest had given him a more lenient schedule this time around, it was still pretty packed. His morning was with Jez for Guild Mastery, and his afternoon would be Dungeon Delving with Chatfield. Barry was in that class, so it wasn’t all bad. Sal was more than a little curious how Chatfield would treat him after the events of the invasion. Hell, he was curious how Jez was going to react.<\/p>\n

The Mythic Guild was barely established and it had already taken down multiple Commander Demons. “Mr. Argento.” Jez started with a barking laugh as he slapped the folder down on the desk with a slap. “What the hell possessed you to run into an Invasion?” Sal frowned at the question. It sounded like Jez was entertained rather than angry, but the man had a mood switch that could be flicked at random.<\/p>\n

Rather than dancing around the topic, Sal decided to be honest with him. “I got a request from the United Guilds Association to assist, so I did it to the best of my abilities.” “And you saved Villa’s arse.” Jez grinned as he pointed to a specific part of the page. “By taking out a Commander? By yourself no less.” Sal just nodded carefully, not sure if it would be prudent to return Jez’s smile.<\/p>\n

A part of him felt like it would just lead to a lecture on complacency if he took the praise. No, he’d just state the facts, find out what the next steps were for the Mythic Guild and keep moving forward from there. Jez watched Sal carefully for a few seconds before he nodded with a chuckle.<\/p>\n

“You did great work, and I’m relieved to see that you’ve not lost your head with that taste of success. I’ve zero regrets of signing off on your Guild being a Tier 8, and anyone that doubted your eligibility won’t have a leg to stand on.” “There’s still a lot of work to do.”<\/p>\n

Sal smiled as he gestured at the folio on Jez’s desk. “Taking out the Commander was just one of the requirements. There are a lot more Demons that need to be killed before we can progress.” “Correct.” Jez nodded as he closed the mission report and opened up the folio dedicated to the Mythic Guild.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
