In addition, the government is pursuing a strategy to expand global K-food exports by strengthening public-private cooperation with export support agencies, food certification agencies, and export support companies, with the goal of achieving annual K-food exports of $21 billion by 2030. For the sustainable overseas expansion of the K-food industry, a diversified approach, including product diversification, strengthening brand com- petitiveness, and localized strategies, is expected to become increasingly important.
This project will introduce the government’s export support programs in response to the Korean Wave food culture, which is establishing itself as a global trend, and will also introduce excellent companies contributing to the export of the K-food industry, as well as various experts and research- ers in export agencies, overseas distribution and market development, overseas certification, branding, and marketing. K-Food+ Buldak Ramen: A ‘K-food success story’ built on Korean spicy heat, localization, and supply chain expansion K-food exports nearly doubled from $3.5 billion in 2015 to $7.0 billion in 2024.
Ramen exports, which grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.1%, reached $1.36 billion, ranking first in both export value and growth. Korea also became the world’s top ramen exporter, holding a 20.6% share of the global ramen export market.
