Devour Me Beautiful Ruin Duet Book 1 – Kelssi R Gouldson

He doesn’t answer, the silence is deafening. “What do you plan to do with her? You know she’s not a plaything, right?” “Of course I know that,” Raze growls, clutching my hand tightly in the front seat. “I intend to keep her.” “Keep her? That’s way too nineteen fifties of you. This isn’t the stone age, women have rights now.” “Is she always like this?” he looks at me with pain in his eyes.
“Pretty much,” I dare to squeeze his hand. “You’ll get used to it.” “Doubt it,” he mutters under his breath. “Maya isn’t like the girls at your concerts, she deserves time and attention,” Isabella continues on from the back seat, entirely fearless. “Don’t you think I know that?” Raze jumps down her throat, glaring at her again from the rearview mirror. “I don’t intend to treat her like a groupie.”
The car pulls up to our dorm and Isabella hesitates to get out. In all seriousness, she looks to me with genuine concern in her eyes. “Are you good with this, Maya?” she questions, ignoring Raze’s dark glare. “Yes,” I nod, unsure what I’m getting myself into but ready to figure it out.
Carefully, Isabella crawls out of the car. Before shutting the door, she flicks her eyes at Raze. “Don’t fuck this up, rockstar,” she warns. Returning her attention back to me, she says “Call me if you need a ride, I’ll come get you anytime.” The door slams shut, and I’m the one walking away with a stranger while she goes back alone. That’s never how this plays out. No, this is role reversal of the norm. “Don’t overthink it, Blackbird,” Raze snakes his hand down my thigh to grab and squeeze.
“Let’s just go back home and you’ll feel better.”
