OceanofPDF.com Chapter Seven Jack watched from the balcony as the warriors returned to the compound. He searched through them, looking for one specific brown- haired warrior. When he didn’t spot Clagh, his heart climbed into his throat, making it hard to swallow. He hurried down to the ground floor. He had to find out what happened to Clagh.

He didn’t quite understand the urgency racing through him. He just knew he couldn’t draw in a breath until he was certain if the Djini was safe. Jack reached the bottom of the stairs as the large wooden double doors opened and several warriors walked inside. They were all walking upright, but it was clear they had been in a battle.

Jack just hoped not all of the blood covering them was theirs. He carefully searched all of their faces again, just to be sure. Clagh wasn’t there. “Where’s Clagh?” “He stayed behind, Demonas Amaté,” one of the warriors stated. “I believe he wished to check on his family.” Huh. For some odd reason, Jack had assumed the Djini didn’t have any close family even though Clagh had talked about his family’s winery.

That just showed him he knew less about the demon than he thought he did. He swallowed tightly before asking, “Is he okay?” He couldn’t stand the fact that he hadn’t been there to watch Clagh’s back. He realized the man had been fighting for ages, but that somehow didn’t make him feel better. “I do not believe his injuries were life-threatening, Demonas Amaté.” “He was injured?” Jack shivered as his blood ran cold.

“How badly was he injured?” “He will heal.”

Detective Jackson Aniston was pulled into a world he never knew existed kicking and screaming. Demons were real, and one of them swore they were mates. No matter how handsome or intriguing the Djini warrior was, Jack wasn’t gay. It could never happen, no matter how many times Clagh kissed him. Clagh had spent hundreds of years doing his duty to Jinnistan and his people.

When his fellow warriors found their mates, he began to hope he would be granted the same gift. His Demonas Amaté was a welcome surprise. Now, if he could just get the handsome detective to see that they belonged together. The threat to Jinnistan is greater than ever. The Shayatin are coming out in greater numbers, attacking indiscriminately. It’s up to Clagh and Jack to find a connection between the rogue demons and a lethal new drug on the streets of both worlds before time run out.
