It’s around the back of the house, and it’s soundproof. The first time I watched a movie, I left to get a drink and was shocked to find I couldn’t hear when the doors were closed. He has a popcorn station, which always carries that aroma of fresh buttery goodness. I think I love the smell of popcorn more than the taste, but I still love the taste. When you walk in, there are three short stairs and then two rows of plush recliner chairs, six in each row.

While not black, the carpet is a very dark grey, which creates the perfect ambiance that feels like a theater. The screen is on another level, filling the entire wall with sound coming from all directions. Simply put, his cinema room is a dream. I pause as I drag his chair to the top of the short stairs.

Levi is leaning to the side and groaning with each tug. “Okay, okay, calm down. This is going to be quick,” I say, which makes his groans louder. Rolling my eyes at his theatrics, I drag him down the stairs, and it’s only slightly bumpy. “See, that wasn’t so bad.” I pull him to the front and shrug at his spot.

The best seats are in the middle to back quadrant, and with him tied up, he’ll have to stay up front. “Those are good seats, sort of.” I snicker and hop into my seat in the last row in the middle. I already had the movie queued up, and when I press the play button and dim the lights, it takes no time to get lost. Reciting the lines is not new, but doing it in front of Levi Chase is. The joy I feel at not fumbling my words in front of him is huge.

When the movie ends, I turn the lights back up, and Levi is already staring at me. His eyes are focused, but with the tape over his mouth, he can’t speak.
