Fine Too Soon – Kayla Dawhn

“Follow through with what?” “My singing of course.” I follow this up with a wink and coy smile before thrusting my hips one last time before submerging us one last time into the cold water. As we come back up, her laugh fills the area around us while swimming away. “Fine Luke! You win, I will do it if you sing.” She continues swimming until she reaches the dock ladder and I see her naked form glimmer as she pulls herself out of the water and walks away from me.
“But when you do, I get to record it and hold it as ransom for the rest of your life.” ‘Rest of your life’ shocks me as I take it in, a mixture of excitement and fear. This is really the first time she has talked about a future with me, and I will take every moment I can get from her. I watch as she climbs the tree, grabs onto the rope, and pushes herself off, swinging over the vast pond before falling in with a laugh.
We both swim towards the dock, but she pauses before climbing out. I was hoping I’d get a glance of her ass in my face, if only for a second, as she climbs out. “Get on up there Luke, I’m getting cold.” Macy slaps my ass while I swim past her.
“Oh, so you want to see me naked?” OceanofPDF.com “What fun would it be if I didn’t, Lucas?” We both laugh while we climb out. I jog over to my truck to retrieve my hoodie – the same one she snuggled up against earlier – and pull it over her head, shielding her from the cool evening air. She releases a small shiver as I pull her towards me to warm her up enough before she reaches down and grabs the rest of her clothes.
I can’t help but notice the way her eyes roam my naked body as I walk back to the truck. After today, there may be no turning back. I’m hopelessly in love with her. Passionately and hopelessly. OceanofPDF.com can’t help but wonder if Luke’s constant reminders and urges to talk to those around me have finally sunk in the way he intended.
The last few days have whisked past in a haze between the family gatherings and pouring myself into writing my book. I have periodically stopped by the library, where Abi works, to do small check-ins before leaving to keep the old women’s pesky “shh” at bay.
