A young girl, a young teenaged girl wrote these lines: “The world’s abloom, and seems to smile. “I want to fly, but where, how high? “If in barbed wire things can bloom “Why couldn’t I?

I will not die.” “To a young woman—or a child—all things may seem possible. But will the flowers ever grow in Fleur de Lys again? “Think about the flowers. A life may be like a flower. Every life, and every flower is unique, different, special. “Every flower, every life, mirrors the beauty of the creator. “And some flowers, and some lives, bloom quickly and are gone. “But each flower is most radiant before it dies.

“Think about the flowers. “We could be overwhelmed by the sadness of all this—overcome by the ugliness of it all. But we may recall the Easter Lily—tall, elegant, fragrant, white—a flower, a lily like a trumpet—shouting that Jesus is risen. The Easter Lily is the symbol of the risen Christ. Yet—this gorgeous flower begins with an ugly—a rough brown bulb. “We are a people of hope. We are a people of faith.

We believe in Jesus, who is the Resurrection and the Life.
