Figure 15.77 Actual Costing Run 1kitap1.com/en 15.4 Information System The information system for product costing provides numerous reports to help you analyze material cost estimates, the actual costs incurred, and the variances between them. This data helps management analyze production costs and how actual costs compare to the plan. Let’s examine the information system for product cost planning and for actual costing and the material ledger.

15.4.1 Product Cost Planning Product cost planning reports are available at the application menu path Accounting • Controlling • Product Cost Controlling • Product Cost Planning • Information System. These reports are grouped into the following types: Summarized analysis Object lists Detailed reports Object comparisons For example, let’s open the useful report S_P99_41000111 (Analyze/Compare Material Cost Estimates), available at the application menu path Accounting • Controlling • Product Cost Controlling • Product Cost Planning • Information System • Object List • For Material.

On the selection screen shown in Figure 15.78, enter plant and material numbers, and you also can restrict results by costing variant, version, and costing date. You’ll also need to select the cost component view to display. Figure 15.78 Analyzing Cost Estimates Figure 15.79 shows the result of the cost estimate. The costing result is provided per material and costing lot size. Figure 15.79 Analyzing Cost Estimates Output Double-clicking the material lets you display the cost estimate. Figure 15.80 shows the material cost estimate. Using this report, you can see an overview of cost estimates per material and drill down to each material to analyze its details.

His work continues to be a delight to read and edit—I always walk away with the impression that I, too, could configure an SAP S/4HANA Finance system.

After all, it’s all laid out so clearly between these pages! Whether you need me to set up a business partner record or run reports in SAP Fiori apps, I’m sure I’m up to the task! We’ve made some improvements to this second edition, starting with an all-new chapter on predictive accounting and another chapter on the newly redesigned margin analysis.

Stoil has also carefully recreated each screenshot in the book in the latest UI; we wanted to make sure that the images in the book match the system you’re working in. As we maintain this key finance resource, it’s important that we hear from you, the reader. What did you think about the second edition of Configuring SAP S/4HANA Finance? Your comments and suggestions are the most useful tools to help us make our books the best they can be.
