Tilray Brands acquired BrewDog in a £33million deal last week. It led to 38 bars being closed and the loss of 484 jobs. The deal also left those who invested in BrewDog through crowdfunding rounds empty-handed. Mr Watt co-founded craft beer giant BrewDog in Aberdeenshire in 2007. He said yesterday: “I am heartbroken for all of the hard-working and passionate team members who have lost their jobs. “I am heartbroken for all of our brilliant ‘equity punks’ who did not get the return on their invest- ment they wanted.”

They were part of a 50-year collection sold by someone who used to work in the industry, netting a total of £238,000.

It included a Captain America helmet and shield, which sold for more than £15,000, and a sword from Conan the Destroyer, which sold for £11,700.
