What should not be permitted is MSPs abstaining from voting. It is their civic duty to represent their constituents in the best possible way. How can this happen if they do not vote? It should not be allowed in law that any politician should abstain. If they do they should be docked a week’s wages. They get paid plenty. Pairing, where MSPs do not vote in a one-for-one arrangement, should also be scrapped.

In these days of technology, politicians of all parties could vote from home and this would also be a good idea to start this in time for the upcoming Holyrood election. If you can work from home then you can vote from home and it would almost guarantee a high return of votes. Even I would be in favour of that.

Duncan McDougall, Inverclyde Expat hypocrisy I’m sick of hearing supporters of Reform UK saying that migrants are bringing our country down. We have 5.5million British citizens living and working abroad to improve their lifestyle. So I say what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Leave our migrants alone, they are only wanting to improve their lifestyle. Fair is fair for all. Gordon Duff, Rosyth, Fife No moral fibre left WHAT is our country coming to, when an elderly blind woman gets put off a bus by the police because she can’t find her bus pass?

It is disgusting. The poor soul was only going two stops. I hope that driver or the police never has a loved one treated in that way, because if they did it might make them think differently about vulnerable folk. I’m afraid there doesn’t seem to be much moral fibre left in our society, especially in the police force.

SCAMMERS are selling deadly dodgy fat jabs on TikTok. A Record probe found the crooks clone sites of genuine pharmacies and sell fake versions of injections.
