At first, I thought she was looking at me, but she was actually looking at Nick. This makes everyone laugh, and Nick quickly shakes his head. “No stripper, don’t worry.” Silas repeatedly said that he didn’t want a stripper at his party. “And you don’t party too hard,” Silas jokes, even though I think everyone knows we won’t really have a party.

I have something relaxed planned. Two easygoing days, during which we can calm down before the stressful wedding day. Luna could probably really use the relaxation. Especially since she certainly doesn’t want to have a wild party anyway. For that reason alone, I’m sure I made the right decision. “You have to ask my maid of honor.” Luna pats me on the shoulder, grinning innocently. “It’s a good thing I trust Jane.” Silas chuckles, winking at me. “You know what I long for right now?” Lilian suddenly speaks up.

Every pair of eyes are turning toward her. “I want to swim,” she then says. Now I have deja vu. Just a few months ago, we were sitting right here. The sun had just risen, and I suddenly wanted to swim. I really wanted to feel the refreshing water on my skin. Eventually, everyone followed me to the beach. To this day, I think it’s one of my best memories. It just feels like it’s repeating itself. It’s just barely evening, and the sun is disappearing below the horizon. It’s getting dark outside, and you shouldn’t enter the water.

However, it is not yet too late. “You sure? It might be freezing,” Silas replies, tilting his head. Lilian, however, still nods confidently. I look at her as she gets up and finally leaves the bar. We all look at each other. Nick is the first to grab my hand and stand up. I do the same, and finally, we follow Lilian outside. The mild evening air immediately envelops me. The sea roars in the background.

Nick and I start running to eventually catch up with Lilian, who is already standing in front of the ocean. After undressing, only her black underwear remains. She grins at us as she finally runs into the water. The waves slap against her body, and finally, she dives.

She loved nick the most from the beginning on. OceanofPDF.com I CHAPTER 1 JANE take a deep breath as I lay my keys down. My mother is still talking on the phone even though I stopped listening to her a while ago. “Come back home, Janie,“ she mumbles through the speaker. She is careful in what she says.

My mother knows I will probably get upset as soon as she deepens the subject. “I am home,“ I answer slowly. “We miss you, and I know you’re not doing well there. It’s been three months…“ She sighs. I hate her for this. She has always been against me being here and my relationship with Nick. “I’m doing wonderfully considering the situation I’m in right now. Nick will wake up soon, and I’ll be the first person he sees,“ I replied coolly.

I’m fighting my way through everything. Not everyone would be doing as fine as I’m doing right now. I try my best to be there for everyone and still have some hope. It is hard, and every day is a fight, but I would never trade it. “I have my family here, and I wouldn’t leave them behind,“ I quickly add before she can say anything.

I know how much she hates this sentence.
