Good Housekeeping UK – January 2026 – Good Housekeeping UK (1)

see the new GH kitchens at one of our VIP events. Left: Jane with Stanley T here’s a quirk in monthly magazines whereby the date on the front of the issue is a month after it’s actually on sale. Now, this is fine for most of the year (when you’re looking ahead at what’s to come) but rather strange when it comes to the ‘January’ issue, which is being read in the thick of the festive season. Do you really want to be planning your January reset when you’re making merry with your nearest and dearest?
No, us neither! So, this issue is dedicated to Making Christmas Easy for everyone who hasn’t planned way ahead or just wants more of the Christmas spirit. There are last-minute decorating ideas (page 138), perfect presents (hello, big beauty gift guide, page 93) and the queen of sorting Britain’s lives out, Stacey Solomon, is here to share her tips for dodging Christmas chaos, on page 10. Of course, we all need things to look forward to – don’t want you crashing and burning after all that excitement – so, on page 62, Lucy Sweet rounds up all the joys to come in 2026, from ‘swicy’ snacks and Tea Tonic to ‘readaways’, flip phones and Taylor Swift’s wedding (come on, don’t pretend you won’t look!).
On page 48, our new gardening columnist, Juliet Sargeant (RHS Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner), is on hand with a twixmas gardening to-do list for everyone who needs a bit of fresh air, calm and – bonus – a workout every bit as effective as the gym. The famous GH family quiz of the year is also back to give your minds a bit of exercise (page 52) and the style team have insider tips and tricks for buying amazing fashion at less than full price – not just in the sales but all year round (page 70).
Finally, the GH demo and test kitchens are now up and running in our head office (do come to one of our VIP events for a nose around – see page 90 to become a VIP Member) and the cookery team have been rustling up stress-free party food, as well as creating fabulous new recipes for our recently launched GH Kitchen app.
This is free to download and SO much fun to use – it’s like a dating app for food!
