Harem Hex Healer – Imogen Knowed

It’s raised high and pink. I see another scar on his chest over his heart. It is white, old, jagged, and angry looking. It looks like someone stabbed him directly in the chest with a knife and pulled out his heart. I sit up quickly. Thad had this same scar. It was the same shape, same color, and gave me the same weird empathetic tingle when I touched it. “What is this?” I demand. My heart is racing. Is this Thad in disguise?
Is he using magic to trick me? I have no idea what magic is capable of in this world. “That’s the curse. It starts at the heart and grows outward. When cured, it returns to the heart but leaves a bit of itself right there. I’m still technically cursed—just less cursed, I guess. I had it before; you just couldn’t see it in the feathers.” I run my finger down the edges of the scar and shivers run through my body.
“Does it hurt?” “No. It feels nice when you touch it, though. Like, I can feel your love radiating through it.” He smiles warmly and closes his eyes. He looks genuinely at peace. Since he’s so anxious, I suspect I won’t see this look on his face often. He must be feeling the same tingle I’m feeling, but for him it is soothing—for me it is a confusing feeling I’ve never felt before. It causes a bit of panic in me, but I suppose the feeling could be love, as well.
“You seem a lot less anxious than usual. Are you always this chill after sex?” “Well, if you didn’t notice, my dick had been really hard for, like, a week. That can be a bit … stressful,” he laughs. I smack him softly and flop down. “You sure have gotten cocky since getting your dick wet.”
This book has explicit descriptions of sexual acts. While all sex is consensual, some may be considered coerced. There is mention of sexual assault, but no detailed descriptions of it. There is some mention of miscarriage, but no active detailing. Additionally, a character is pregnant throughout the book. There is some violence, domestic violence, and gore. Body shaming and some ableist language are also present. OceanofPDF.com 1 What the fuck is going on? It’s too bright. My head hurts. There are so many trees, but their leaves provide enough space for light to pierce through them.
The beams are like knives cutting directly into my skull. My migraine is still kicking. The meds I took are not working. Why am I in a forest? Or is it woods? What is the difference? Does it even matter? I am fucking stuck in them! I stand, lifting myself from the ground, and brush the debris from my butt.
I’m not even going to bother trying to brush off my back. I pull some sticks and leaves from my hair. Keep it together, Astrid. I hug myself and rub my arms attempting to warm up a bit. It’s cold. I’m happy I have my hoodie. I want to lie down and hide my face in my hood, but I need to figure out where I am. I need to figure out how I got here.
Did I fall asleep? Am I dreaming? Migraine medication tends to give me vivid dreams. This doesn’t feel like a dream. They were new meds. Maybe they affect me differently than my usual pills. Perhaps I shouldn’t have taken migraine meds I bought from a literal drug dealer.
The stupid pharmacy wouldn’t give me any more of my prescription, though. They said I could only have ten pills a month. I have migraines that last a week and need at least three per day. How the fuck is ten supposed to last? I can’t see anything other than trees and these sharp light beams. Ugh, the light. I’m sure I’d think it was pretty if it wasn’t so damn painful to look at. What should I do? Where should I go?
I suppose left is as good a direction as any. Whenever I play video games and come to a fork, I always go left.
