A court heard the former bare-knuckle fighter failed to provide information within 28 days, which is a breach of the Road Traffic Act 1988. Fury, of Wilmslow, Cheshire, denied the charge. But he did not attend North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday and magistrates found the charge proven. Fury was fined £1,574 for the offence and ordered to pay within 28 days.

The court heard Fury’s car was picked up by a camera on a smart section of the M6 between Keele and Stoke. Prosecutor Charlotte Morgan said: “On July 14, one of the Home Office- approved detection devices detected an offence involving a motor vehicle. The details were transmitted to the police. “On July 16, 2024, a notice for prosecution was sent via Royal Mail.”

Reading a statement from Staffordshire Police, Ms Morgan added: “A final reminder was sent second class via Royal Mail. “I have checked the system for a reply but there is no record of a reply from the defendant John Fury.” A second charge relating to allegations Fury drove down a closed motorway lane were dismissed. Fury will fight ex-super middleweight champion Carl Froch on April 11. now obtain a visa to return as police hold his UK passport. A court hearing today will determine whether his March trial can take place.
