His Broken Butterfly The Deranged Legacy Series – A V Mads

OceanofPDF.com The Wedding Turns out, Steele finds me. The lights, the music, Nevers. I couldn’t stay inside that club any longer, which worked out because the nice bouncer who helped me off the table escorted me outside. The bitter-for-Vegas temperature cools my skin, drying down the sticky sweat and tears, and clearing my head. Now, I sit on the curb with my knees curled into my chest, a few feet from the truck I still need to ditch.
New car. Fake ID. Plan of attack. He betrayed me. For the fiftieth time, I remind myself that Nevers is a liar. While he acts charming, while I want to trust him, there’s probably zero truth to the story he wove in there. Then, my suspicions follow behind like a herd of little ducklings.
Butterflies migrate to Nettle Beach. Trying to escape at the motel, using the same arsenal as Nevers during the road trip, Steele’s locked phone with my case files on it. I replay what happened at the motel repeatedly. Not when I killed those goons, but before. He didn’t fight me much when I cuffed him to the bed, but he fought when those other guys came to rescue him. Did he tip them off? He let me use him, encouraged me to, and listened to every command I gave him.
What motivation would he have to do that? “Delila. Jesus, you scared me. I thought someone had you, I—” Steele’s words cut off as he crouches beside me. There are no makeup tracks on my bare face, but I’d imagine my eyes are red from the tears. The guy I bumped into or who bumped into me lifted my bag. My gun, some cash, and the truck key were all inside. My scar and new tattoo ache from the sudden and constant awareness of my body, and I want to go home.
For the first time since I killed my father, I wish for my childhood bedroom. I wish for the yellow daisy wallpaper peeling at the edges that my mother refused to replace, and the crocheted blanket my grandmother made me. More tears dive over my stupid baby blue journal with the rose gold lock on it. My mom bought me disappearing ink so my father couldn’t snoop through it.
I miss calling out for her in the middle of the night when the latch on my window would fail against the pressure of a hard breeze, and I miss the view.

Please read with caution. OceanofPDF.com CHAPTER 1 The Escape Nothing quite like the feel of a cold steel Canik against someone’s head late at night. As the barrel presses against his temple, his body goes rigid. I smile for the first time since they brought me to this hellhole, and not because I have the power to kill again. Guards approached from every angle—flooding in from the secret entrance in the conservatory and the hallway I’d tread for those miserably cold three-minute showers. Over the intercom, The Demon’s voice repeats those damned command words that forced me into submission for so long, and all my fellow patients have found their way back to their rooms.
Not me, though. It took me months to break that spell. To build resistance to my injections, meditate away the brainwash, and sneak in to change out medication doses. With every arrival of a guard, my resolve tightens even more. Escape, or die trying. I’ve kept every promise I’ve ever made to myself, and this one will be no different.
My target arrives.
