Darling Daffodils Farm – Brittanee Nicole

“Oh, you’ll have to come! Your brother really enjoys book club. Don’t you, Walker?” I blow out a breath but don’t respond. Gail smiles at my sister. “Oh, you should definitely come.” “Yeah. And we decided next week’s book is going to be a cowboy romance in your honor,” Babs nods toward me.
“Not a cowboy,” I grumble. My sister laughs and Tally knocks her hip against mine. I glance down at her and get a whiff of her sweet scent right as our eyes connect. Those damn golden eyes. She licks her lips, and I swear the entire farmers market fades away.
Then she reaches up and snatches the cowboy hat right off my head. “Fine, I’ll be the cowboy for the day.” “Oh, you know what they say in those cowboy romances?” Penny says, appearing out of nowhere. With my hat still held tight on her head, Tally turns to her sister. “What?” Penny flashes her a wicked grin. “Wear the hat, ride the cowboy.”
Tally’s head falls back, and her loud, raspy laugh has my dick twitching. “I wanna wear the hat!” Quinn whines. Without missing a beat, Tally turns and plops it on his head with a smile. “Looks better on you, anyway.” He grins back at her like she’s the best thing he’s ever seen. I’m right there with him. The Liberty Ladies all move on down the line as Gail rings up their purchases, and I try to focus on anything but these feelings swirling in my chest.
Quinn tugs on my arm. “Can I go play in the fields?” I grab my hat back and look to Billie, who nods, and I give him strict directions to stay within hollering distance. The farm abuts the brewery so I can see Quinn as he runs up and down the rows of pink and purple tulip beds. When I turn back, Rosie is walking toward us carrying the damn coffee mugs that say THIS IS DEFINITELY COFFEE in one hand and a bottle of champagne in the other.
She hands Tally one and Penny takes the other two while Rosie precariously pops the champagne, the cork flying behind her. She giggles as the liquid fizzes over, and she pours each of them a generous amount. I grunt in annoyance as my sister laughs beside me. Rosie taps her glass against the other two. “This is some turnout.” Tally smiles and winks in my direction.
“All thanks to our viral cowboy.”
Brittanée Nicole lives in New England with her husband and their two children. Known for writing swoony men who always fall first, Brittanée loves stories centered around strong friendships that form the basis of a found family and messy, beautiful love. When she’s not writing, she enjoys spending time outdoors by the water with her children, reading at the beach or by the pool (or really anywhere), dancing with her friends, singing karaoke, spinning, taking long walks by the water, and boating.

It’s never selfish to go after your dreams. And to the readers who have been with me since the beginning. This one’s for us. OceanofPDF.com OceanofPDF.com “I CHAPTER 1 Tally March can’t believe you talked me into this.” I pass the welcome sign for Hope Harbor and shake my head, baffled as to how my older sister got me to return home to our small New England town before ski season even ended.
Penny’s laugh comes out raspy over the car’s Bluetooth. “Please. I’ve been dealing with Mom for the last few months. You’re lucky my failed engagement gave her something to focus on, but I’m tagging you in now, Tally. You’re it.” “What if I just stay until we find someone who actually knows how to plan a wedding?
Or better yet, I’m sure the ladies’ auxiliary has someone who would want to help out.” The ladies’ auxiliary is a group of women a bit older than our mom who call themselves the Liberty Ladies. Their charter dates back to the 1600s and says something about supporting the soldiers’ families during wartime.
