Empress Of The Undead A LitRPG Kingdom Builder Book 2 – Lilith Marlowe

Boom! Boom! A chain of explosions detonated mid-air, stunning the Leaders. The Angels immediately turtled up, wings wrapping around themselves to generate a Holy Light aura that incinerated any undead that got too close. But a few Crypt Spiders ignored the burn, crashing through the light barrier. They glowed an ominous red before detonating. A massive shockwave vaporized the surrounding Angels and Fallen Angels.
Even the Dragon had to execute a clumsy evasive maneuver to avoid taking heavy damage. The Leaders on the ground were shielded by the Titan, but the shock was evident on their faces. “Are you kidding me? Sacrificing Veteran units?!” “These undead are insane! They don’t care about dying!” “Let them blow themselves up. I want to see how many they can afford to waste,” Valeria sneered.
Her smirk vanished instantly. From the town, ten thousand more Crypt Spiders took flight, buzzing like a plague of locusts, initiating another suicide run. “Fuck!” “That is absolutely broken!” Hearts pounded. Even the stoic Tina showed a flicker of emotion. “Her strength is… beyond expectations,” Tina said, stepping forward. A golden holy sword manifested in her hand.
“I will handle the bombers.” Wings of pure light erupted from her back, bathing her in a divine glow. Tina ascended, and the other Angels gathered around her, funneling their energy into her blade. A blinding nova engulfed the battlefield. It was like a second sun had descended. The intense light forced the Leaders to shield their eyes. It swept across the sky, incinerating the souls of the Crypt Spiders instantly. They fell from the sky like rain.
The range was immense; the undead couldn’t even get close before being vaporized. The few Veteran spiders that survived the light were weakened enough for the Dragon and Fallen Angels to finish them off. The suicide tactic had been neutralized, but it had successfully stalled the enemy’s air superiority. The Angels, in particular, were a hard counter that devastated the undead ranks. On the ground, however, the Alliance’s ground forces were stuck.
The Demons, the strongest individual ground units, were bogged down by an endless sea of Undead Knights and Zombies. They couldn’t break the encirclement.
“Pick up anything good?” Isolde asked, her eyes scanning the perimeter. “That wasn’t a defensive array back there,” Lilith said, her voice cool and clipped. “The gnomes were stalling. It’s highly probable that reinforcements were inbound.” As the Teleport Token activated, reality warped around them. In a blink, the chaotic battlefield was replaced by the familiar, fortified architecture of their territory. “Oh, thank RNGesus. It feels good to be back!” Isolde stretched her arms, beaming. “Where’s Elara? I’m starving. I need meat, like, yesterday.” “Sis, you’re back.
What’s the sitrep?” Elara emerged from the castle, her expression tight with concern. Lilith let out a soft, elegant sigh, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. “The Shatterbone Kingdom is more complex than anticipated. For them to directly engage an Elite-tier High Priest implies one of two things: either they are staggeringly incompetent, or they possess a trump card we haven’t seen.”
Lilith leaned toward the latter. Even if Shatterbone was tougher than expected, the plague she’d unleashed was already doing its work. The kingdom was in chaos. She had to strike while the iron was hot. The Gnomes weren’t stupid; they would soon deduce that a third party was pulling the strings. It was better to be the hammer than the anvil.
“Elara,” Lilith commanded softly, “recall the Foxkin from Shatterbone. We don’t need them getting caught in the crossfire.” “On it.” Elara nodded and pulled up her interface. Lilith opened her own holographic display, scrolling through the war logs. She frowned. There was detailed data on the skirmish, but no system notification declaring war on the opposing Lord. Strange, she thought. Is it because I didn’t personally kill his units? Or is it a glitch? She dismissed the thought.
A kingdom founded by a player Lord was bound to have unique traits or hidden mechanics. “I have an undead legion numbering in the thousands, and my forces grow with every kill,” Lilith murmured, her gaze hardening. “I refuse to believe I can’t crush a kingdom of feeble weaklings.”
Lilith made her decision. At the end of the day, Shatterbone was just a Veteran-tier faction. “So, Sis,” Elara asked, looking up from her screen. “You’re going on the offensive?” Lilith nodded. “The board is set. Both of our enemies are distracted and fighting for their lives. They won’t have the bandwidth to deal with us.” In a blur of motion, she teleported to the top of the battlements, looking down at her army. “Micah,” she called out, her voice authoritative and calm.
