He seemed to realize his manners. “Um, sorry. Come on in, please. I’m so glad to see you.” She stepped inside and Beck closed the door behind her. If she wasn’t mistaken, those delicious aromas wafting through the house were black- eyed peas, greens, ham, and cornbread. “That her, lad?” a man’s Scottish brogue called out. Beck seemed entranced, smiling down at her as if he couldn’t believe she’d actually come. “Yeah, sorry,” he answered. Then he held his hand out to her.

Nami looked around, first, taking in her surroundings. While neat and tidy, the house felt lived in. The furnishings didn’t appear to be super- expensive despite the house’s size. Two stories, but she didn’t see anything obvious to indicate serial killers or a whacked out sex cult lived there. No bodies dangling from chains or anything. I really need to get out more if my preconceived notions are based on cheap-ass horror movie reruns.

Finally, she laid her hand in his. “People know where I am.” “I would hope so,” he said. “I’m honestly surprised you didn’t bring someone with you. I expected you to.” He started to lead her through the house, giving her a brief tour of the downstairs as he walked. They ended up in the kitchen, which was the source of the delicious aromas making her mouth water. Three men stood in the kitchen, including an older, short, one-eyed, red- haired guy she suspected owned the Scottish brogue.

Dewi was there, too. Nami tried to fight back the jealous urge to scratch her eyes out. The woman stepped forward. “Sorry for how crazy this has been. Hopefully tonight will allow you a chance to breathe and relax and get to know Beck and the rest of us better. “Who are you people?” “I’m Dewi. Dewi Bleacke.” She pointed to a slender guy who probably looked a lot skinnier than he normally did because he was standing in comparison to the other three, beefy guys.

“That’s Ken Ethelbert, my fiancé. Martin Brunhaus, a friend and co-worker. And, finally, Badger Williams.” That was the older, one-eyed, red-haired guy. “Nice to meet ye, lass,” he said. “If me hands weren’t full, I’d come shake wit’ ye. I’ll catch up later.” Yep, the Scottish dude. “Dinner’s ready to go,” Dewi said.

“You and Beck come on in to the dining room. The guys will bring the food in. Nami suspected Dewi was the designated spokesperson of their little group. It also felt weird to have others serving her. In her family, she’d run the men out of the kitchen when it came time to get things ready. Usually, they just got in her way.

Geek Chic (Bleacke Shifters 2), 71k words A wolf hasn’t just met his mate…but his match. Dewi Bleacke’s life is complicated enough, between settling in with Ken, her new vegetarian mate, being the Targhee pack’s Head Enforcer, and trying to manage daily responsibilities running the extended pack council there in Tampa. Oh, yeah, her brothers insist on a formal wedding.

But when long-time friend and Enforcer partner, Beck, finds his mate during an operation, Dewi feels guilty that he has to let her go or risk the completion of their job. She makes it her responsibility to help Beck track her down. Looks like the headstrong Namiyah Drexler won’t be easy to get along with. Until Nami’s family gets in trouble, and she needs Dewi’s help to save them.

Adding insult to injury, Nami teams up with Ken to help plan the shifter wedding of all weddings. Dewi would rather face a drug gang than wear a froufrou dress…or, she just might have to do both.
